I worked in Windesheim University of Applied Sciences as a trainee under the department of Supply Chain Finance. My work in there was about the optimizing the order to cash process of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises and evaluate the adoption of Supply Chain Finance Solutions. So it was a great experience that I can add into my CV as a work and academic experience. During my study period in there, I was sitting in the same office with the academicians who I worked with. I was also in a research team that tries to find supply finance solutions for the firms. Hence, I had an efficient collaboration with them to improve myself in both sides theoretical and practical. Moreover, I had a chance to participate a team building activity with them to have closer relationship with the academicians. On the other hand, I also joined their meetings and provided them what I had been doing about the duty that was given me. For these reasons, I was very motivated by working with the scholars in Windesheim University. I also got many inspiration from their working style, their perspective on academic life and relationships between them. The last topic that I would like mention is the accommodation. Due to being a phd student, I wanted to stay alone in a room. But the private rooms that Windesheim university provides are very expensive. For this reason, the international officer in Windesheim University helped me to find a room.

As I mentioned in the advantages, the accommodations that Windesheim University provides are very expensive. Actually, the private rooms cost more than 400 euros that amount is more than the scholarship I gained by Erasmus + program. The shared rooms are also around 325 euros but I was lucky that the international officer in Windesheim University found me a private room in a flat and it costs 300 euro per month. Actually, Windesheim University does not directly provide rooms for students. The university works with a house agent namely, SSH that rents the private and shared rooms in the dormitories. If students want to stay in this company's dormitories, they will be charged around 75 euros just to make a contract with the company. Students also have to pay tax fee regarding to the period that they will stay in the dormitories. So, except monthly renting cost, the students have to pay minimum 150 euro for the tax and contract fee. Thus, students who want to go the this university should consider these expenses too. Moreover, I am a Turkish phd student who study in Czech Republic and I have a long term residence permit card from this country. I went to the Netherlands for three months without applying a visa. But if I stayed in the Netherlands for more than 3 months, I would have applied for the visa and it also costs around 325 euro for non-European students. Also, if I want to go to the Netherlands again I have to wait for 3 months. This is because the Netherlands has a different regulation that if somebody had stayed in there for 90 days, he/she has to wait for 90 days to go there again. For instance, I just left from the Netherlands 28th of April and if I wanna go there again I have to wait until 28th of July. As I mentioned above this issue happens just for students who do not have European citizenship. I think, countries that are in European Union should give a privilege for the students to not to apply for visa in case of going to study another European country. As happened in my case, even though I am a long term phd student in Czech Republic and have a long term residence card from this country I had to apply for a visa to study in the Netherlands for more than three months. I think the governments should solve this issue by making some exceptions for the students who face with similar situations with me so the students will not be obliged to pay visa expenses and also they do not wait 90 days to go to the Netherlands again.
